Veteran Entertainment Tonight host Mary Hart visited Dame Elizabeth at her home on Nimes Road for an interview that aired over several episodes beginning February 27, 2007, Dame Elizabeth’s milestone 75th birthday. (An extended version aired during an episode of ET Weekend.) The two chatted about Elizabeth’s life, career, AIDS work, House of Taylor Jewelry line (she wore a necklace of her own design during the interview), swimming with sharks (which Elizabeth had a ball doing the year before in Hawaii), as well as contemporary stars’ and their relationship with the paparazzi. One of Dame Elizabeth’s most interesting revelations was that she had recently called up ex-husband Eddie Fisher!
Asked by Hart how she wished to be remembered, Elizabeth responded: “That I was a fighter. That if I fought for something I believed in, I could get something accomplished. But I had to fight.”
This would be Elizabeth’s final sitdown TV interview.
